Before this solo debut from Leon Russell, he had already established himself as a virtuoso pianist and member of Phil Spector's famous studio band The Wrecking Crew, playing on many hit records for bands such as Jerry Lee Lewis, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones, among countless others.
Though his rough bluesy voice may be a bit of an acquired taste for some, this is a great album of Americana country-blues.
