i have a friend (who shall remain nameless to protect the guilty) who was on tour in Austin at SXSW in the mid 90's and was stunned to see Kim Fowley conducting a barbershop quartet of cute little kids in tuxedos around a grand piano in the lobby of the Marriott one day... the same kids turned up on MTV after a makeover a year or so later as Hanson...
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty awesome. After reading this I did a little bit of research to see if Kim Fowley had anything to do with Hanson after they got famous, but all I could find was a short sentence saying Kim took Hanson to 24 different labels, all of which weren't impressed. Kim even edited a video demo of them but it didn't help to impress the labels at all.
