XTC - Oranges & Lemons (1989)

XTC are a band that took a while to grow on me, but I'm really glad they did. On this album they've created a almost perfect blend between psychedelia, and power pop. Though instead of reveling entirely on psychedelia as they had been with their side project, The Dukes of Stratosphere, they've created a much more mature pop album here. At it's best, it's almost reminiscent of a modernized Sgt. Peppers or Pet Sounds, with my only complaint being that while almost all the tracks are great, they don't seem to flow seamlessly together. Another record from the King of Trade
